Manresa Tames Fuelabrada From Painting

The Baxi Manresa achieved a resounding victory Sunday over the Urbas Fuenlabrada after dominating the match from start to finish. The locals did not give up the lead on the scoreboard at any time. The main difference was in the paint (52 points from Manresa to 30 from Fuenlabrada), where the Manresa center Martynas Sajus shone with his own light , author of 15 points and a PIR of 28.

“We knew they were the second best team in the league’s offensive rebound and we prepared the game to minimize that facet of theirs. We were also very clear about which players to stop. We have done a great job,” explained Sajus, MVP of the match.

Successful transitions
Manresa entered the game much better, controlling their defensive rebound and loading the offensive very well. Baxi Manresa lost some offensive fluidity and the clash was equalized, although Pedro Martínez’s men continued to dominate the area (35-3.2 m. 15). Despite this, the offensive talent of the visitors, especially Marc Garcia and Trimble (24 points between them), kept Fuenlabrada in the game.

500 assists
The locals stretched the score at the beginning of the third quarter with a 7-0 run preceded by a great defense and the lack of offensive ideas from Fuenlabrada. (56-40, m. 23). After the time out, Manresa did not slacken. The game went into basket exchange dynamics and the difference remained around fifteen points until the end of the period.

The last quarter lost intensity and rhythm due to the favorable difference of Baxi Manresa. The locals did not slacken and kept their distance until the end.

“We are happy with the game, we have made merits to win,” celebrated Pedro Martínez, happy that his team has already reached the milestone of 500 assists this season. “Team play is key for us.
